FORCE SIGNING OF CONTRACT
Posted on: 07-01-2008 @ 04:29 am

Rumors has it that a new poker room will be opening soon at downtown area. Well, as heard, they pay their workers about $8.50/8 hour shift (thats about more than they pay us.. $3.00? Hello? Can you believe this). Other trainees heard the news and without hesitations, they transferred at the other poker room just to catch up on their trainings. And me, I just stayed for a while and was hoping that our bosses would have change their minds and would raise our salary to protect their business and dealers from crossing over (hehehe).

My fellow dealers of course wanted to have a better salary and yes thought about staying for this is a sure job. (of course i should also do the same cause this is a cool job and im getting paid but no way am I be feeding myself with 3dollars on my shift!)Our manager was so pissed he made us a contract (a contract with a whole bunch of blanks...is that even legal?). A 1 year contract(which is good) BUT THEY WILL BE PAYING US $3.00 FOR THAT WHOLE YEAR! Can you even believe that?

The manager was so pissed he didnt want any of the dealers to cross over. So he forced us to sign the contract, WITH NO TIME TO THINK! He just told us to sign, but I was hesitating. If i transfer to the other poker room, I would make a living. But I wasnt going to sign the contract. The manager told me: "Francis, You are my best dealer..Now if you dont wanna sign this, Im gonna have to put you on the BLACK LIST of the POKER DEPT. all over the country". He kept me thinking...: Can he do that? I thought NO HE CANNOT DO THAT! I have a friend at the poker dept. and told me that they do not or any other person have the right to black list a person in the poker department.

So I hesitate and left!

The funniest thing here is,they wont allow me to call my dad, and they dont want me out of their sight! So i just followed our customer at the comfort room and asked if i could borrow his cellphone. The thing is, that customer was a foreigner, I didnt have any problem talking to him but, GEESH i felt like my ears are bleeding! Like my foreign language was almost OUT! Thanks to that customer I contacted my dad (thanks Daniel). Here we go. As i was planning to leave, the internal security even helped me out to escape our manager. Housekeeping, waiters, securities, bartender even helped me out to escape. They kept our manager, some dealers busy so i can escape. I went in the bar from the comfort room - CRAWLING ALL THE WAY TO THE BAR AND STILL CRAWLED 60FT JUST TO BE OUT OF THEIR SIGHT! IMAGINE THAT AND I WAS EVEN WEARING WHITE LONG SLEEVES FOR THAT. Luckily, the CCTV personnel took my excuse so they have no other choise but to let me go. HEhehehehe
