Post subject: What Happens in this Case?

Here's the situation. The flop has already happened and Player A bets big after the flop so big that he only has a few chips remaining (assumption is he's got a high pair possibly AA). Rest of the table folds but one stays calling the bet (we'll call him Player E). However, not remembering Player A didn't go all in and held a few chips back, he lays his cards down thinking it's an all-in showdown. Player A now knows what Player E has? What is the fairest way to play the rest of the hand? Should Player E be out of luck and have to hedge his bets knowing Player A knows if he has the better hand or not? Should it be a misdeal? Should no further betting be allowed as it puts Player E at a disadvanted even though it was his own doing?

This happened in a game the other night and we decided no other betting. Player A's pocket Aces didn't hold up to Player E's pocket Nines when the River was a Nine!

I would think the hand should be played as normal with player A playing the rest of the hand knowing player E's hand.
