While playing holdem, somebody says that they have an 8 down in there hole cards and all thats up is the flop, and there are two 8's showing, is that legal if they don't have any 8's down after they show?

You cannot talk about your hand during the hand. So if you did have an 8 and two 8's came on the flop you shouldn't be talking about it. In the online game you'd receive a warning from the dealer if you disclosed your hand during play. It's also a stupid thing to do because with trips on the flop you should be trying to hide the fact that you've hit a huge hand and be trying to cover it up !
