Post subject: who wins this situation

this happened last night... the board read 2-S, 6-S, J-H, J-S, and A of spades... Both players had a spade in their hand... Now does the highest spade take the pot, or is it a split pot because it became an ace high flush for both players?

Highest spade takes it. So player 1 has a Ks and another player 10s, the winner is player 1 with AKJ62 over AJ1062.

Flushes do rank by all the cards. They are therefore only a split where if all 5 community cards (call it diamonds for example) are on the board and either noone has a diamond or the diamond someone holds is lower than the 5 on the board.

Choose a poker room from the main page and press click now. If you've signed up as a member of this website you will be invited to $1000 Freeroll tournaments from time to time. I've held five such tournaments in the last 2 years, and you'll see from the forum postings on the subject that almost noone turned up (so they were very easy money)
