| this happened last night... the board read 2-S, 6-S, J-H, J-S, and A of spades... Both players had a spade in their hand... Now does the highest spade take the pot, or is it a split pot because it became an ace high flush for both players? |

Highest spade takes it. So player 1 has a Ks and another player 10s, the winner is player 1 with AKJ62 over AJ1062.
Flushes do rank by all the cards. They are therefore only a split where if all 5 community cards (call it diamonds for example) are on the board and either noone has a diamond or the diamond someone holds is lower than the 5 on the board. |
