| Onemore is right - this is a split pot with both players holding the Full House. Suits do not rank in Texas Holdem Poker. |

Hi Guest - thanks for the compliments, I always try to respond to questions within 12 hours if I'm close to a computer, so feel free to ask anything you like.
This situation will always be a split pot. The "nut" hand here would have been 8c6c which would have been a straight flush to the 8. 2c3c would make a straight flush to the 5. Following that AA would make 4A for the 3rd best hand, followed by A7 for a higher Full H to than the AAA55 house that your example has. The point I want to emphasis is that no matter how unlikely they may sound, there are higher hand possibilities out there which you need to be aware of especially in No Limit play.
Most people will be extremely happy with an A5 house. In this situation I would consider a split pot to be very unlucky indeed, and to lose to a higher hand a bad beat. I would be betting this hard, but would be aware that I could still lose with A5 (which would be a genuine bad beat). |
