I've been reading some posts about the new rules requiring members to post on the forums in order to qualify for the freerolls. Good idea. There were a lot of comments about sitouts. Why do you allow it? Most other sites pull the sitouts from the freerolls. You are providing the buyin as well as the prizes. It is disrespectful to the site and to the other players to register and then sit out. I vote to remove them from the game.

Hi Wacky,
I agree with you but I'm not sure the rooms have the capability to remove sitouts. On to the 10th Freeroll and its always been an issue. I think this time around you won't see many (in fact you probably won't see many participants either due to the new posting rule and the email signup password that I'll send out to members with the appropriate Freeroll Points a couple of hours before the big game).
However many people show up, I'm looking forward to it. |

Just to make a point, Check Absolute Poker, Poker Host, Jet Set Poker. just to name a few. They remove players from freerolls who sit out too long. Usually it's sit out one level and you are removed from the table.

Check a few more sites and you will find that the sit outs or no shows are not eliminated (Nobel, Titan, Poker Host to name a few). It all depends on the software that is being used. My understanding is that some sites tried to change the software to elimiante the no shows but got screwed up and had to go back to the original. Yes, its great to play in a tournament where the no shows will be gone. Its agrivating to play in one, especially when you are the only player at the table with 9 no shows and all you can do is click a raise to steal the blinds. Been in one a few weeks ago, made it to the final table with over 3X the amount of any player. Boy, were they upset when I told them how I won the money.

I like the software that removes sit outs that haven't played a hand in the first round of blinds.

The problem is this , How does the software determine a sit out as opposed to someone who is playing tight and just hasn't acted yet? I have had friends who were playing tight and had not caught any cards yet and they were removed. Is this fair? I think not, so just deal with the sit outs. Yes they are a pain right where a pill can't reach and a doctor doesn't want to but they are part of the game.

Wouldn't someone playing tight press the fold button instead of waiting to timeout each time ? Also many sitouts are often not even logged into the poker room. I would guess that the software can determine if someone is not at their oc or not.

If you have sitouts at your table you should be happy. They provide you with free chips, and reduce the field.

what I hate is when when 2-3 people are present at the table with 7 sitouts is that donkeys will try to outraise each other to steal the blinds and will suck out the best hand with their crap play and hit their 1-outer on the river and blow you away.

On Absolute all i have to do is call one hand in the first level and then i can sit for the rest of the game. If i don't call one hand and just fold i am removed.
