Well Poker is a game of cards, so both factors are present.
But someone that wins a lot, how much is really skill, how much is luck.
I am for the skill bit. But I know lots of people would go for luck. (like, if your feeling lucky you could call...)
What do you all think? |

I would say skill is more dominant than luck in holdem poker. That must be the reason why we keep seeing the same faces at big tournament finals. If it was luck different people would be on the final table at wsop every year.

u need both. u can dominate a hand and get beat. but skill is getting players out of the hand when you need to, keeping them in it when necessary and pushing people off winning hands by betting well. u'll get it. just play and watch the better players

Luck is when the crazy people who go all-in at the start of a tourny win a hand, as the tourny goes further on more skill is involved, and the players who play with luck usually get knocked out...usually

ahh its bit of both. The diciplined and therefore skillful poker player will be able to lay down top pair or 2 pair when theres a possiblity of a straight or flush out, or possibly to come out, where as the "lucky" player will throw chips around willie nillie trying to catch a river flush.... And th point is sometimes hell get a caller and win, but more oftern than not the skillfull poker player will win out and take the "lucky" players money.
