Post subject: Playing rebuy and addon tournaments

How do you go about playing in tournaments which allow rebuys and addons ?

If you lose all your chips during the rebuy period, do you rebuy to carry on ? If so how many times would you rebuy ?

Also how do you use the addon feature ?

Would like to hear your thoughts on this.

Onemore - you'd know the tourney was a rebuy as it says so in the lobby before you register.

Once in, you typically have a period which is either an hour, or a number of playing rounds during which time you can rebuy. I find this period to be rather false as players are more aggressive in the knowledge that if they get banged out they can buy back in. My preference is to build chips steadily and I've never been one to go allin with say Q3 pre-flop in the hope that I catch cards.

At the end of the rebuy period it's common to be offered the opportunity to buy extra chips equivalent to the starting chip level. I rarely take this up because it usually doubles the cost of my tourney. After that rebuy period has closed you are on your own and normal tourney play applies.

I've never heard of an addon feature - maybe it's a name for the final rebuy where you can add chips without being chipless.
