The HoldemPokerCalc program has been launched. You can find a link to it on the main menu (red) and the home page. Please let us know your comments and suggestions on this forum. Also post any problems so we can help you resolve them.
Good luck. |

| I would be grateful for member feedback on the new poker odds calculator. A lot of work went into developing it. |

I do like it, don't use it a whole lot but I might use it more if i get some money to make a deposit so it will auto read the cards for me.

I use the new HoldemPokerCalculator EVERYTIME I play Doyles Room and really like using it !! As I've posted elsewhere, I believe anyone not using a 'good' odds calculator has made a conscious decision to play at a disadvantage.
So far as user feedback:
1) Expand to more rooms....such as Absolute.
2) Complete HELP pages so we users can better understand the nuances of your calculator.
Understand these things take time to develop but that's my short wish list.

Actually, my short list includes one more thing:
1) Pot Odds calculation

Hi Warthogg, and thanks for the feedback. We plan to add all of the above, particularly Pot Odds which is the only calculation the program is missing today. What I'm sure you'll appreciate is that the mathematical calculations that went into building this is were incredibly complex. So much so that I believe we might be the only calculator on the market showing opponent odds for up to nine opponents holding 2 cards that we cannot see (but that exclude the exact cards on the board).
Pot Odds is the first on our list, and is straightforward as a calculation but it does mean we have to read the chips on the table in addition to the cards. Chips are smaller and harder than cards to accomodate. Anyway, expect this addition in the next few weeks.
Additional rooms will come online including Pokerstars, Poker .*** and a few others.
I also play with HoldemPokerCalc whenever I play because while I understand the maths it's just easier not having to waste energy working them out when there are other things to observe.

I will put it in the line but you should know they are not head of the queue. I've never played at Absolute which is why I've not had any interest in programming their room.
In the meantime you will pick up the odds and starting card ranks based on exposure to the product over at Doyles. For example I can tell you that Jack 10 mixed suits is hand rank 48 out of 169. Many would say it's really rather sad that I know facts like that and I certainly wasn't aware of the exact ranking beforehand. One thing is for sure, in this game every little advantage helps.
Keep the product requests coming. Direct feedback is the way to go. I expect the logical conclusion of this product is for it to become a self playing robot (certainly in limit holdem). I believe the hardest parts of both the maths and the coding are behind us.
Now I think of it you got it cheap ! |

WebM.,
even I didn't have guts to request that Absolute be moved to the HEAD of the que but requested 'near' the head !!
A better reason for moving Absolute 'near' the head of the cue is their 20,000 plus players. Lots of potential customers.
---------------------------------------------------------
WebM., your comment: "Now I think of it you got it cheap !"
Understand you likely made that comment partially in jest but your comment is true none the less. WE DID get in cheap and that's how it should be for early adopters*. However, in receiving that low entry price, traditionally we early adopters* also have implied (if not implicit) responsibilities.
We should:
1) Give timely and constructive feedback
2) Help carry the product message to the masses ( read potential customers).
WebM., candidly Holdem Poker Calculator is presently at an akward stage. Until you have time to complete the 'HELP' (user instruction) pages it is difficult for me to recommend the product to new users. If one of them were to purchase the product, not understand a function and ask me for help I wouldn't have a clue.
In no way am I beating on you as I'm certain your plate is loaded but am speaking with candor.

Hi Warthogg,
I have put in a detailed user guide with screenshots accessible via links from the hpc main page. I will make additions to that page shortly and add many new FAQs.
With regards to absolute poker auto read function it will be done within a week or two straight after pokercom and pokerstars and released with the next version of the program. |

We have added pokerstars, absolute poker and ultimate bet to the list of supported rooms for the next version. It should be available within a few days.
We are thinking about adding pokercom and paradise next. Feel free to put in your suggestions and we will add them to the list. |

As I only play Doyles Room and Absolute at present, you'll soon have my waterfront covered.
