| I am trying to find a nice chip set for holdem. I would like as close to casino style as possible (wieght, denomination marked, color, etc.) I just like realism. I have found a few sets on Amazon.*** for around 65-78$ but was wanting to see if there where better sets. |

Levelgrape,
I answered your reply in good time but the site was then hacked and I didn't notice that the reply was not included in my backup.
Chipsets - they make all the difference when playing a regular home game and as ever with these things what you get is what you pay for. I've played with a range of sets but to my knowledge you can't get an authentic set for this price. $60-$80 buys you chips are the right size but they lack both weight and detail. No good if you are thinking of learning to riffle
The only realistic sets I've seen come from Las Vegas Casino's themselves. Each casino has a mall of shops (some are online) and you can buy real clay weighted chips there for $300. I've not come across a completely realistic set below this price. If other readers have found such a set for less please post it here. |

The first chip I looked at cost 0.43 a piece at one site, and 0.14 on another. Rumour has it a friend found the same for 0.10 even. We are awaiting the first test shipment. (Heavy composite chips btw, looks good sofar)
My advise: don't by a complete set with case and all. You end up paying a fortune for a plastic or wooden box. for those prices I'd make a case myself or ask a friend who's good at DIY. |

just make sure if you have it sent to you from another country..
be aware of import costs...
I won a set in a game a couple of weeks ago...
but it cost 40 bucks to import the damn thing into Canada
Imagine if I actually bought the thing...
