| here is my quesion if a flush is on board for texas holdem is this a split pot or does a kicker still stand even if there is say five clubs showing for the community cards ( do the hole cards count) thanx. |

If there is a card in any of the pockets making a higher flush that hand wins and it's not a split pot.
If the board is Ac Kc Qc 5c 4c and you hold Tc your flush beats the board's |

Holding a 6c beats the board, but loses to someone holding a 7,8,
9, T, OR Jc. Having a 2c or 3c wouldn't help, unless of course you
had both,,,,  |

| i have a question if a flush is on the board with a ace king queen jack and a nine all spade suited and i have two hearts in my hand my buddy has a 3 of spades and a 10 of diamonds is it a split pot? |

Hi Matt,
Your situation is a split pot (it's quite unusual to split a flush) because both players have AKQJ9 as their best 5 cards. The fact that one of them holds another spade is immaterial in this example. |
